Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers injectables by Radiant Esthetics in Newport, RI

Replace lost volume or support with injectable hyaluronic acid. As we age, the bony structures in our faces flatten, and our fat pads fall due to gravity and loss of support. Using Dermal Fillers, we can lift that fallen tissue and replace structure and volume. Dermal Fillers also raise or soften scars and lines. Fillers are also a great way to turn back the signs of time that can be evident on the neck and hands. The Restylane and Juvéderm fillers used here at Radiant Esthetics are made up of hyaluronic acid, providing our patients with increased safety.

The advantages of this treatment include:

  • Improves hollow contours
  • Softens facial wrinkles
  • Diminishes the appearance of recessed scars
  • Reduces the shadows of the lower lids
  • Smooths lines near the nose and mouth also called marionette lines and smile lines
  • Enhances the volume of sunken cheeks or temples
  • Smooths a chin crease
  • Volumizes symmetry of facial features

Juvéderm vs. Restylane

Juvéderm

Juvéderm XC is a smooth gel that restores volume to the skin and smooths moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that occurs naturally in the body. JUVÉDERM XC improves the appearance of nasolabial folds or smile lines.

Restylane

FDA-approved Restylane injectable gel is a cosmetic “filler” that contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the body. The common areas for Restylane treatment are the glabellar lines or the elevens and the nasolabial folds. According to manufacturer Medicis, results can last up to 6 months when the body reabsorbs the hyaluronic acid.

CAUSES OF AGE SPOTS

Although age spots are usually caused by accumulated exposure to the sun‘s ultraviolet (UV) light, they may also be the result of using tanning beds/lamps; trauma or injury; or genetic predisposition. People with light skin are more likely to develop age spots, as are those with a history of frequent sunburn or sun exposure.

DIAGNOSIS OF AGE SPOTS

True age spots are harmless and do not require treatment. If what is thought to be an age spot appears irregular, however, a biopsy may be performed to ensure that it is not malignant. Spots with the following characteristics should be evaluated by a physician:

In addition, spots that are itchy, red or sensitive, or that bleed, should be checked for malignancy.

TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR AGE SPOTS

Although age spots are not medically dangerous, many people who develop them find them aesthetically unappealing. Treatments to remove age spots or make them less prominent include the following:

Treatment of age spots is considered strictly cosmetic, so insurance companies typically do not cover procedures to remove them.

The Treatment

We’ll start your treatment by cleansing the targeted area and providing you with a topical anesthetic to numb the area before your injection. Our filler products also contain lidocaine, a gentle anesthetic that minimizes discomfort throughout your filler treatment. We’ll insert a customized filler dosage depending on whether you want subtle or drastic results. Your skin will appear voluptuous and more youthful instantly after the injection. There’s minimal recovery, and you may resume your routine the same day of the procedure. The treatment takes fifteen to thirty minutes to perform.
